Midfielder Kristjan Asllani will receive a wage increase of around 25-30% on his new contract with Inter Milan.

This according to Italian outlet FCInterNews. They reveal the financial reward that has come in the extension for the Albanian international, previously on €1.2 million net per season.

Yesterday, Inter confirmed that midfielder Asllani has signed a new deal.

The 22-year-old, whose previous contract had run until the end of June 2027, put pen to paper on an extension until the end of June 2028.

This extension is a show of faith by Inter in Asllani.

The Albanian is a player who the Nerazzurri believe can continue to grow into the team. And so they have rewarded him with a new deal – and with it, a pay increase.

Asllani’s previous contract – the one which he signed when he joined Inter from Empoli – saw the Albanian earn around €1.2 million net per season.

And according to FCIN, that will go up by around 25-30% on the midfielder’s new deal.

Kristjan Asllani Receives Pay Increase On New Inter Deal

Asllani joined Inter from Empoli in the summer of 2022.

The Albanian international joined the Nerazzurri on an initial loan deal. However, this contained the obligation for the Nerazzurri to make the signing permanent.

Asllani initially signed a contract with Inter until the end of June 2027.

Inter signed Asllani to be the understudy to Marcelo Brozovic in the holding midfield role initially.

However, in the 2022-23 season, Brozovic lost his starting place.

It was not to Asllani, however. Rather, Hakan Calhanoglu was handed the opportunity to play in the regista position during lengthy periods where Brozovic was on the sidelines with injury.

And the Turkish international became Inter’s first-choice holding midfielder.

Therefore, last summer, Inter sold Brozovic. However, they kept Asllani, who became the understudy to Calhanoglu.

And right now, the Albanian is the primary backup to Calhanoglu. Therefore, he has received a pay increase to reflect that fact.
