Reports in Italy suggest that Milan sporting director Antonio D’Ottavio has left his role after a series of strategic differences with club advisor Zlatan Ibrahimovic.
Though the club are yet to issue a formal statement on the matter, Calciomercato.com and others report that D’Ottavio has agreed to leave his position as sporting director of the Rossoneri.
D’Ottavio has been with Milan since 2017, initially as head of scouting before later moving onto the role as sporting director. He has also been described as Geoffrey Moncada’s right-hand man.
According to Tuesday afternoon’s report, D’Ottavio and Ibrahimovic had several disagreements over plans for the first team, Milan Futuro and for the Rossoneri youth teams.

Calciomercato.com report that Ibrahimovic, and technical director Moncada will remain in their roles and will continue as the ‘backbone’ of the club’s senior management structure. Jovan Kirovski will remain in charge of the Futuro set-up as technical director.
There are also suggestions that the Rossoneri already have a list of candidates prepared to replace D’Ottavio, including Dario Audasio and Roberto Carrario.
