Luka Modrić could very soon become a new player of Milan as talks are progressing very well.
Milan are heading towards a kind of summer revolution as they’ve signed a new Director of Sport in Igli Tare, a new coach in Massimiliano Allegri and are also planning changes in the squad with some key players likely to leave, such as Theo Hernández and Tijjani Reijnders.
One of the players the Tare has identified he wants in the new Milan is none other than Luka Modrić, the 2018 Ballon d’Or winner who will turn 40 in September.
Milannews.it reported this afternoon that talks are ongoing between Milan and the entourage of Modrić. Afterwards, Sky Italia doubled down, suggesting that Modrić has said ‘yes’ to Milan and a verbal agreement has been reached. Sky claims that Milan are ‘confident’ that the signing of Luka will be secured by tomorrow (Wednesday). It’d be a one-year contract for the midfielder, who grew up a Milan fan, with an option to extend for a second year. The salary is expected to be €3.5m.
Modrić left Real Madrid this season after 13 years at Los Blancos, winning everything possible in the white colors. In his last season, he played 57 games in all competitions, scoring 4 goals and making 9 assists.
