Thursday was one of the busiest and strangest days in recent AC Milan mercato history, with Strahinja Pavlovic’s name emerging as part of that.
Pavlovic has been linked with a potential exit since the start of the window when he was barely getting any playing time under the new head coach Sergio Conceicao, having also vanished under Paulo Fonseca too.
However, he then rose to prominence quite rapidly. With Malick Thiaw out and Fikayo Tomori serving a suspension, he got his chance during the Champions League game against Girona. The Serb impressed in the clean sheet, and followed it up with another good display against Parma.
Nonetheless, MilanNews reports that there has been a lot of talk about Galatasaray’s strong interest not only in signing Alvaro Morata – who is heading there on an initial loan deal – but also in Pavlovic.
At the moment, though, there seems to be no desire from the club to even contemplate a sale, especially with Thiaw still injured, Tomori linked with a Premier League move and now Gabbia a doubt for the derby too.
Moreover, La Gazzetta dello Sport spoke of a ‘revolution’ at Milan in this morning’s edition, but Pavlovic will not be a part of it. They stated that while there is interest from abroad, the player has made it clear he wishes to remain.
