With Liam Delap all signed up and almost announced, attention at Chelsea is turning towards their next priority positions.
A right footed left winger is a phrase that’s come up time and again, and the name most often associated with it is Jamie Gittens. Those rumours went up a gear in the last 24 hours, with numerous sources claiming a deal is getting closer.

All of that has a major effect on the future of Jadon Sancho, on loan from Manchester United. As is well known by now, the Blues can either pay £25m to sign Sancho or £5m to send him back. It sounds like they’re genuinely split on what to do.
Jacob Steinberg’s article for the Guardian today makes it very clear that buying Gittens from Sancho’s former club Dortmund would mean the end of the line for Sancho, with Estevao Willian already signed up to arrive to add to our wide attacking options.
“There is uncertainty over whether or not Chelsea will meet an obligation to make Jadon Sancho’s loan from United permanent for £25m,” Steinberg writes.
“Some key figures within the club are not sold on signing the winger, citing his inconsistent form this season, but a deal is possible if Sancho agrees to reduce his salary.”
The piece also notes that Noni Madueke could be available, joining Joao Felix, Christopher Nkunku and Raheem Sterling on the list of senior attacks who could leave.
With all that in mind, it’s possible we see a total revolution in attacking areas for Chelsea this summer, with two of this season’s most used attackers potentially leaving, and two new faces coming in replace them.
