Roma is investing a lot in this transfer market session and much of the credit comes from the transfer strategies adopted by the Friedkins in view of the 2024/25 season.

Having overcome the obstacle of the restrictions linked to Financial Fair Play thanks to the work of Tiago Pinto, the Giallorossi club carried out maneuvers which allowed it to lighten the burden on the squad’s balance sheet, saving as much as €70.6 million euros thanks to the transfers and farewells of numerous players at the end of their contracts.

Roma have in fact saved €19.3 million from the departures of Spinazzola and Rui Patricio in free agency, to which €37.2 must be added following the decision not to renew the loans of Azmoun, Huijsen, Kristensen, Llorente, Lukaku and Renato Sanches.

Furthermore, the club collected €9.6 million from the sales of Aouar and Belotti, recording around €16 million in capital gains.

The coach’s salary also decreased, given that the move from Mourinho to De Rossi allowed the club to save a further €4.5 million.

The signings of Le Fée (€23 million), Ryan (free transfer), Dahl (6 million total) and Soulé (€30 million including bonuses) weigh ‘only’ €30 million a year in total in annual costs.

Furthermore, in the event of Dovbyk’s arrival, the Ukrainian attacker would have an annual cost of around €13.6 million per year, therefore lower than Abraham (€14.37 million), reports Medium.
