Report reveals the date when Barcelona will officially announce the renewal of Hansi Flick | OneFootball

Although there were some doubts about his ability to lead FC Barcelona back to their glorious position at the summit of European football, Hansi Flick has dispelled all such misgivings in only his first season in charge of the Blaugrana team.

The German coach was able to make Barcelona one of the most entertaining and competitive teams in Europe once again, and won three notable titles in his first season with the Catalan club, i.e., the Spanish Super Cup, the Copa del Rey, and La Liga.

New contract finalized for Hansi Flick

Owing to the very successful season that he has had and his management style in general, Hansi Flick has quickly made a place for himself in the hearts and minds of the Blaugrana fans and administration.

As a result, Barcelona are keen to renew his contract, which is currently expiring in 2026, and the two parties have been negotiating for this renewal for quite some time now. One such meeting between the two sides took place after the last El Clásico on 11th May at a hotel in Barcelona, where the remaining details of Flick’s new contract, which will go till 2027, were finalised.

Renewal to be announced on Wednesday

Now that the details of this new contract have already been finalised, Mundo Deportivo claims that Hansi Flick’s renewal will be announced by the Catalan club this Wednesday.

Barcelona will announce this renewal with an official statement, and a press conference for this event is not planned to take place. In addition to the official statement, the Blaugrana club will also share some images and statements from Flick on its own media.

Flick had already announced after winning the domestic double that he is looking to lead Barcelona to even more success in the next season, thus confirming his stay for at least one more year. But with this renewal, he will stay with the Blaugrana team for two more years, which is understandable as Hansi Flick does not prefer longer contracts.
