Liverpool are not resting on their laurels. Fresh from securing their 20th league title with a commanding 5-1 demolition of Tottenham, the Reds are already charting their next course. The Daily Mail reports that owners Fenway Sports Group are ready to invest heavily this summer, backing manager Arne Slot as he looks to shape a squad capable of repeating this success.

Slot, who succeeded Jürgen Klopp in May 2024, is expected to receive substantial support in the transfer window. A striker and defensive reinforcements are high on the list, with Bournemouth’s Milos Kerkez and Dean Huijsen both under consideration. Hugo Ekitike of Eintracht Frankfurt is also admired by Liverpool’s recruitment team. A central midfielder may yet be added, too.

Not all the news is celebratory. Star full-back Trent Alexander-Arnold has attracted significant interest from Real Madrid, though nothing has been signed. “Trent Alexander-Arnold has a big-money offer from Real Madrid but nothing has been signed yet.” Meanwhile, Darwin Nunez is expected to leave after a mixed campaign, with sources suggesting his future lies away from Anfield.
The club’s title celebration is scheduled for Monday, May 26, a bank holiday, ensuring maximum turnout. An open-top bus parade will launch from Allerton Maze at 2.30pm and wind its way through Liverpool’s historic streets—past Fiveways roundabout, Rocket flyover, and ending at Blundell Street.
In the wake of the title win, Ibrahima Konate captured the collective mood. “After the game (against Tottenham) I walked into the stadium and sat in the stands to feel like a fan. I don’t have words to describe what I felt. I was close to crying. It’s unbelievable. We have to really enjoy it now.”
This report fills every Red heart with pride—and optimism. Slot isn’t here just to maintain Klopp’s legacy; he’s building something fresh, ambitious and bold. Hearing that FSG are ready to open the chequebook signals a shift in tone that fans have long craved. The idea of Hugo Ekitike arriving and someone like Dean Huijsen marshalling the defence suggests a younger, dynamic Liverpool side is on the horizon.
But, of course, there’s a sting. The potential departure of Trent Alexander-Arnold would devastate the Kop. He’s Scouse through and through, and while Real Madrid may tempt him with silver and sunshine, Liverpool is his footballing soul. Letting him go would send shockwaves.
As for Nunez—he divided opinion, but few can deny his work rate and moments of explosive impact. Still, if his departure funds a more reliable goal machine, so be it.
The parade? That’s pure magic. Ending the season parading through the streets, reliving the past glories of 2019 and 2022, is the perfect punctuation mark. This is more than a celebration—it’s a statement. Liverpool are back at the summit, and with Slot in charge, they intend to stay there.
