The departure of Kylian Mbappe has brought several changes to PSG’s attack with the spotlight now distributed more uniformly on all three players in the final third in Luis Enrique’s system.

Bradley Barcola and Ousmane Dembele have both stood out for the Parisiens this season, excelling on the wings and providing great service to the central striker.

Injuries to Goncalo Ramos and now Marco Asensio, however, have left the team without an established striker and the club are now reportedly looking to make a big investment to bring in a long-term fix.

The candidate in Atalanta

As revealed in a recent update on Fichajes, PSG have set Atalanta striker Ademola Lookman as a priority target to improve their squad.

At just 26 years of age, the centre-forward has his best years ahead of him and has been constantly improving over the years at the Serie A club. In 85 games with Atalanta, he has 35 goals and 17 assists to his name.

Lookman’s clinical finishing in front of goal and his good link-up play make him the ideal target for PSG’s style of play. Further, he is also a versatile option who can play in other attacking positions.

The striker’s current contract with Atalanta runs until the summer of 2026, giving the Italians significant leverage over his future and related negotiations. They demand €65 to 75 million for his signing, a fee PSG are not opposed to.

Nasser Al-Khelaifi and Co. thus, will look to focus their efforts on convincing the player to make the move to France and play for one of Europe’s footballing giants. Considering how Atalanta have retained trust and backed him for years, it will not be easy to lure him away.

In three Serie A starts so far this season, the Nigerian forward has two goals and as many assists to his name. Further, he has two goals contributions in two UEFA Champions League clashes this term.
