Tensions were high in Roma’s dressing room following Sunday’s debacle with Fiorentina.
At the end of the first half, a heated confrontation broke out between coach Ivan Juric and defender Gianluca Mancini, who then did not return to the bench, preferring to remain in the locker room.
After the final whistle, another tense episode involved captain Lorenzo Pellegrini and sporting director Florent Ghisolfi. According to Il Corriere dello Sport, Ghisolfi went to the locker room to discuss with the team, assisted by interpreter Claudio Bisceglia.
During the meeting, the sporting director used forceful language and harsh terms, stressing that unsatisfactory performances like the one at Franchi cannot be tolerated.
However, some players, including Pellegrini, expressed their disappointment with this approach, and it was the Giallorossi captain himself who spoke up to defend the integrity of the group.
