Tom Bischof has been one of the bright spots for TSG Hoffenheim this season, breaking into the starting line-up in central midfield.
Bischof's performances have caught the eye of other clubs, with Eintracht Frankfurt understood to be keeping tabs on him.
Now, according to Kicker, RB Leipzig have also started monitoring the 19-year-old German youth international.
The report claims that Leipzig first showed an interest in Bischof three years ago, at which point he decided to continue his career with Hoffenheim.
Bischof's contract expires at the end of the season, at which point he will be available on a free transfer.
However, Hoffenheim are keen to extend his contract. Managing director for sport Andreas Schicker has made this clear.
"I enjoy playing football and I am completely focused on that. Of course there are talks in the background, but my agent and my parents are taking care of that," he said.
For now, it's likely that Bischof will wait and see how things develop at Hoffenheim under new coach Christian Ilzer.
Ilzer's first game in charge was a 4-3 win over RB Leipzig, in which Bischof got on the scoresheet.
