Real Madrid will likely hijack Inter Milan’s long-term pursuit of rising Como star Nico Paz.

According to Tuttosport via FCInterNews, incoming Los Blancos manager Xabi Alonso is the Argentine’s admirer.

Therefore, Los Blancos will soon open talks with the Italian outfit over the 20-year-old’s return to La Liga.

Nico Paz swapped the Santiago Bernabeu for life on the lake last summer.

However, the Spaniards have included a buyback clause in the agreement and will now trigger it to sign him back.

Meanwhile, Inter can do nothing to stop Paz from returning to his former club.

Xabi Alonso will replace Carlo Ancelotti at the helm ahead of the summer’s FIFA Club World Cup.

Furthermore, he wants to have Paz in the squad for the tournament.

Though Los Merengues have a buyback clause, it only comes into effect on July 1.

On the other hand, the tournament kicks off in mid-June, meaning they would need to act sooner.

Therefore, Como may end up earning more than just €9 million from Paz’s inevitable departure.
