Celtic appear to be set to sell Sead Haksabanovic after a report linked the player with a move to Sweden Malmo are reportedly keen on taking the 25-year-old on a permanent deal this summer. Haksabanovic spent last season at Stoke on loan with his Celtic career appearing to be over but there was no option to buy and the player returned to Paradise.

As reported by Fotboll Direkt, Malmo are keen on signing the player as they look to compete in the Champions League. The report says that Celtic have agreed a deal to sell the ex-West Ham player with a deal expected to be confirmed imminently.

The Montenegro Internationalist signed from Rubin Kazan for around £1m in the summer of 2022 but has failed to hold down a regular place in the first team under either Ange Postecoglou or Brendan Rodgers. The attacker fired a message that appeared to question the Irishman, which accelerated his departure on loan to Stoke City. Haksabanovic’s dissent on social media was been condemned by supporters, who would’ve rather he showed his value on the field as opposed to cryptic social media posts.

Haksabanovic made 42 appearances for Celtic, scoring five times and assisting on four occasions in his time with the club. Having spent a lot of time in his playing career in Sweden, the move would likely see Haksabanovic reach his full potential.
