More new faces are expected to follow Delap through the door, and Chelsea are looking for a versatile forward, centre back and right footed attacker.

Chelsea set to finalise signing of Bright Ede

Whilst signings to improve the first team are vital this summer, that hasn’t stopped Chelsea from looking at securing more deals for future stars.

One player who falls into that category is Ede who’s been previously linked with Chelsea, and the teenager is currently playing in Poland for Motor Lublin.

Chelsea are closing in on a record breaking move for Ede.

However, despite only joining Motor Lublin in January the 18-year-old could be on the move again after just six appearances for the club.

Polish publication Meczyki have reported talks are going to start next week to finalise a deal for the teenager, who will go straight on loan to Strasbourg.

The report adds the offer will be a Polish record in the region of €11m and a deal should be completed by the end of June.

Motor are in line to make a huge profit having signed Ede for just €100,000 and it’s likely he will replace Mamadou Sarr at Strasbourg.

Chelsea still interested in Marc Guehi

Whilst Ede is a signing very much with the future in mind, Chelsea are still looking for a centre back to go into the first team.

Chelsea are hopeful of completing a cut price deal for Guehi after the Club World Cup and the 24-year-old has just a year left on his Crystal Palace contract after joining from the Blues in 2021.
