FC Bayern has been looking for a new head coach for almost three months now, without success. This week, they received their fourth rejection from Thomas Tuchel. As has now become known, the Munich club has received significantly more offers in recent months than previously assumed.
The coaching disaster at FC Bayern began on 29 March, when Xabi Alonso announced that he would be staying at Bayer Leverkusen. At the same time, this was a rejection to the German record champions, who had been working for weeks on signing the master coach.
Just under three weeks later (18 April), the next setback followed, the next rejection: the DFB announced the contract extension of Julian Nagelsmann. Here, too, Bayern came away empty-handed, although there had already been concrete talks between the two parties.
In the weeks following the Nagelsmann failure, FCB courted Ralf Rangnick. Despite intensive talks, there was no happy ending here either. Rangnick also turned Bayern down on 1 May.

The latest and probably most serious low point is the cancellation of Thomas Tuchel. A coach who is already in place, has a current contract and enjoys the backing of the fans and players. Here, too, there were talks, and here, too, the candidate subsequently cancelled to Bayern.
The final double act in the coaching chaos in Munich followed yesterday, Saturday: Roberto De Zerbi was the latest name to be removed from the list. According to Eberl, the Italian will definitely not be the coach at the Isar. BILD also revealed that Roger Schmidt had also turned Bayern down. According to the report, the Munich club had tried the Benfica coach after the failed negotiations with Tuchel, without success.
As the portal ran reports, Eberl and Co. have also turned down other top coaches in addition to Alonso, Nagelsmann, Rangnick, Tuchel and Schmidt, whose names have not yet been made public. What is clear is that Eberl has certainly spoken to more than significantly more coaches in recent months. According to his own statements, Bayern had a double-digit number of names on their list at one point.
