According to a report from L’Équipe, Renato Sanches (28) is set to depart Paris Saint-Germain and join Panathinaikos. The Portuguese international midfielder is set to join the Greek club on loan until the end of the season without an option to buy.

Things haven’t quite worked out for the former Bayern Munich midfielder at the Parc des Princes, and he is set to make another temporary switch away from the French capital. Sanches most recently joined Benfica on loan, but he has also spent time on loan at Roma since making the switch from Lille for €15m in 2022.

Trabzonspor looked set to get a deal over the line to sign the midfielder on loan until the end of the season with an option to buy. However, Sanches appears to prefer a move to Greece over Turkey and has opted to join Panathinaikos. The former Swansea loanee’s contract at Les Parisiens is set to expire in 2027.
