Tijjani Reijnders praised the fighting spirit that AC Milan once again showed under Sergio Conceicao as they produced a magical comeback vs. Parma.
Coming into the game Milan knew they had the chance to gain ground on Juventus and Bologna above them after their results yesterday, plus one (or both) of Fiorentina and Lazio who play tonight.
Parma twice led during the game through Matteo Cancellieri and Enrico Del Prato who scored either side of Christian Pulisic’s equaliser from the spot, and they looked to be on course for a league double over the Rossoneri.
However, Milan seemed to summon some spirit from nowhere, equalising through Reijnders as he converted a one-on-one from a Yunus Musah pass, then Samuel Chukwueze bundled in a winner. The goals came in the 93rd and 95th minutes, which says it all.
Reijnders spoke to DAZN shortly after being handed the Man of the Match award by Lega Serie A. He gave his thoughts on what was a real rollercoaster match, which were relayed by MilanNews.
It was a crazy game…
“Yes, it was. We showed the right mentality, fighting to come back. We also had great support from the fans.”
Does this match give you more energy?
“Yes, we saw that the teams above us dropped points and it was too important for us. Now we have to continue.”
