After months of rumors, Tijjani Reijnders has put pen to paper on his new Milan contract, which will run until 2030. The midfielder is getting a pay raise as he has vastly outplayed his original deal. He wasn’t too touted or sought-after when the Rossoneri signed him from AZ Alkmaar for about €20M in July of 2023.

The 26-year-old took his name to another level during the current season despite his team’s troubles. He’s already up to 12 goals, which is a personal best with three months left in the campaign. He has appeared in 40 matches and dished out 3 assists.

Reijnders will more than double his wages and pocket €3.5M per year plus bonuses, Calciomercato reports. The Dutchman had been hinting at a renewal for a while in his interviews. It won’t include a release clause. The Rossoneri will eventually be able to set whichever price they want. Only an overly rich offer could entice them to cash in.

Mike Maignan and Christian Pulisic are next on the docket as far as extensions are concerned, while it’s far from certain Theo Hernandez will prolong his deal.

The Dutchman had brief remarks to Sky after signing (via Corriere dello Sport).

“I’m proud for re-upping after just a year and a half here. This club feels like a family. I’m looking forward to tackling the next few seasons. This place is my second home, and I’m truly happy. It’s a tough moment. We have to do better, be strong, and keep believing in our work.”

Our Take on Reijnders and Milan

His performances have been truly remarkable amid the Rossoneri’s utter confusion, and the figures at stake are still affordable.
