Reijnders ecstatic after completing Manchester City transfer | OneFootball

Tijjani Reijnders has said he is ecstatic after completing his transfer to Manchester City from AC Milan.

City have completed the signing of the Netherlands international for an initial fee of £46.5m. Reijnders has signed a long-term contract with the Citizens and becomes the club’s fourth arrival of the summer, following deals for Rayan Ait-Nouri, Marcus Bettinelli, and Rayan Cherki.

The Dutchman was named as Serie A’s Best Midfielder in 2024/25 despite a disappointing campaign for Milan. He scored 15 goals in all competitions to attract interest from the Etihad.

The 26-year-old is available for selection at this summer’s Club World Cup and Reijnders has said he can’t wait to get started at City. Speaking to the club’s official website, he expressed his delight at fulfilling a long-term ambition to play in the Premier League. Reijnders said he is keen to follow in the footsteps of the league’s best Dutch imports.

“I am ecstatic to be signing for Manchester City,” Reijnders said.

“City are one of the biggest teams in the world, with the best coach, world-class players and outstanding facilities. Under Pep Guardiola, City have won so many titles. I want to help keep that going with a lot more success in the coming years.

“It is also a dream come true to play in the Premier League. This league has seen many of the best Dutch players perform through the years. It’s an inspiration to follow in their footsteps.

“I am really looking forward to getting going, meeting the other players and showing the Manchester City fans what I can do.”
