The Los Angeles Galaxy are looking for their first win as their opponent on Saturday has just two on the season. Both of these soccer squads finished in the top three last season in the MLS Western Conference standings.

As we know, the second-seeded LA Galaxy went on a historic postseason run as they captured their sixth title. Real Salt Lake, who was the third seed, got upset in the first round by Minnesota United FC.

Saturday will mark the 60th meeting between the LA Galaxy and Real Salt Lake. The only other team that Real Salt Lake has faced more than the Galaxy is the Colorado Rapids.

What to know before kickoff?

The game is scheduled to start at 1:30 p.m. (PT) and 3:30 p.m. (CT). America First Field in Sandy, Utah will be the site of this battle.

MLS Season Pass will be broadcasting the game. Apple TV and Apple TV+ will also be providing live coverage on Saturday.

In the previous 59 games between the LA Galaxy and RSL, the defending MLS champions have won 25 times and lost 19. There have been 15 draws, as well.

The Los Angeles Galaxy have been beaten by Real Salt Lake once in their last six meetings. Seven years later, the LA Galaxy won against Real Salt Lake, 3-1, in the Audi 2016 MLS Cup Playoffs.

Real Salt Lake prevented the Los Angeles Galaxy from winning the 2009 MLS Cup. The two teams have played tightly against each other since.

On Tuesday, the LA Galaxy managed to hold a 0-0 draw against Tigres UANL in the first leg of the Concacaf Champions Cup quarterfinals. The second leg is next Tuesday. This gives the LA Galaxy four games in an eight day span.

Despite being two of the top teams in the MLS Western Conference last season, neither are in the top ten spots entering this weekend.
