Real Sociedad star in the sights of Lazio | OneFootball

A member of the attacking ranks at La Liga outfit Real Sociedad has emerged as something of a dream summer signing for Serie A side Lazio.

That’s according to Mundo Deportivo, citing Sport Italia journalist Alfredo Pedulla, who point towards Mikel Oyarzabal as the player in question.

Frontman Oyarzabal is for his part fresh off another thoroughly productive campaign with Real Sociedad in 2024/25.

Despite the collective struggles endured by Imanol’s side, the 28-year-old managed to rack up 18 goals and eight assists across all competitions.

Such form culminated in Oyarzabal being afforded a starting role in Spain’s recently-completed Nations League campaign, too.

Safe to say, then, that it would require a massive offer to coax Real Sociedad into the sale of their captain over the months ahead.

As alluded to above, though, this has not stopped one club from sniffing around the signature of the attacker.

As per MD:

‘According to Sport Italia journalist Alfredo Pedulla on his own website, Oyarzabal is Lazio manager Maurizio Sarri’s dream because “he drives him crazy”.

If Sarri had his way, he would in turn push ahead with an imminent swoop for the Spaniard.

Lazio, however, are aware that a deal would prove next to impossible to complete.
