Slowly but surely, Real Madrid are losing their grip on Nacho Fernandez, who is tilting towards an exit from Santiago Bernabeu.

Nacho, who has been at Real Madrid for 23 years now, will become a free agent in the summer. He has the option to renew his contract at the club, but it appears the veteran is hell-bent on finding a new challenge elsewhere.

Nacho has decided to leave Real Madrid

Such has been confirmed by yet another report from MARCA (h/t Mundo Deportivo), which suggests that Nacho has decided to leave Real Madrid at the end of the season.

During his 23-year association with the White Club, Nacho has been involved in 357 competitive matches. During this time, he notably won five Champions League titles and several league titles.

But Nacho’s time at Real Madrid has finally come to an end. He will not renew his contract, regardless of whether or not Los Blancos secure the Champions League title this season.

What is Nacho’s next destination?

According to the report, Nacho has also made a call on his next destination, amid interest from Inter Milan, as well as several Saudi Arabian giants.

Nacho, though, has decided he won’t continue his career in Europe or move to the tempting Saudi League. Instead, the veteran has decided to move to the United States, for the next chapter of his career.

Indeed, Nacho is expected to join the MLS after leaving Real Madrid this summer. Although the report has not specifically mentioned any MLS club, Nacho is unlikely to have any shortage of suitors in the United States.

Moving to MLS could see Nacho follow in the footsteps of multiple Spanish players in the recent past, including former Barcelona duo Jordi Alba and Sergio Busquets, who currently ply their trade for Inter Miami.
