Vincenzo Montella’s Turkey continue its impressive form in the UEFA Nations League by securing a narrow 1-0 victory over Montenegro.

Although the scoreline suggests otherwise, Turkey were the far more dominant side, largely thanks to the plaudits of Arda Guler.

The Real Madrid starlet was the main man for Turkey in this game, taking up a leadership role in attack. He showed a lot of commitment and passion while he was also more involved in Turkey’s attacking plays.

Turkey fans euphoric about Guler’s performance

As reported by AS, Turkish fans have grown euphoric about Guler’s recent performance against Montenegro.

They are hoping Carlo Ancelotti had watched Guler in action against Montenegro, as he showcased a brilliant display of skill, passion and efficiency in the final third.

This comes on the back of Guler’s recent struggles with Real Madrid, which has even led to speculation over the youngster’s future at the club.

Indeed, Ancelotti has refrained from using Guler too often, citing his lack of defensive contributions. He has also complained about the Turk’s lack of involvement in training.

But through his performances for the national team, Guler has clearly shown that commitment and passion are not an issue, as far as his game is concerned.

The onus is now on him to work on his defensive contributions, as he looks to establish himself as a key player for Real Madrid.

Guler, for his part, is not thinking about leaving the Santiago Bernabeu, despite his ongoing struggles with game time.

In the meantime, though, the playmaker’s focus will be to replicate his performance in Turkey’s upcoming game against Iceland on Monday.
