Real Madrid star in the sights of Saudi giants | OneFootball

A member of the attacking ranks at La Liga giants Real Madrid has today been tipped for a potential move to Saudi Arabia.

The player in question? Joselu.

Frontman Joselu is for his part of course in the midst of a hugely productive campaign in Spain’s capital.

Since linking up with Real Madrid from Espanyol on a season-long loan, the veteran striker has racked up 17 goals and three assists.

Making such figures all the more impressive, meanwhile, is the fact that Joselu, throughout the campaign, has acted as a backup option in Carlo Ancelotti’s squad.

The widespread assumption, in turn, has long been that the brass at the Santiago Bernabéu will opt to trigger their cut-price option to buy the 34-year-old this summer.

As alluded to above, though, such plans could yet be complicated, by one of the leading clubs in the Saudi Pro League.

As revealed by Real Madrid insider José Félix Díaz of Marca, Joselu has made his way into the sights of Al-Ittihad.

The Jeddah-based outfit are understood to have identified the Spanish international as a leading target with a view to the summer, eager to add yet another high-profile name from the European game to their ranks.

First contacts have already been initiated between Al-Ittihad and Joselu’s entourage, with it now remaining to be seen whether the money on offer in the Middle East is enough to turn the head of a player who is known to be more than happy in Madrid.
