Real Madrid’s strategy of keeping a close eye on the Brazilian market has worked out well for the most part. Eder Militao, Vinicius Jr and most recently Rodrygo Goes have all established themselves as regular starters for the Merengues and seem set to don a white shirt for the years to come.

Yet, not all the players signed from the South American country have gone on to succeed with flying colours. Reinier is one such young star.

According to reports from Mundo Deportivo, the player is set to return to the club in the summer after an unsuccessful spell at Girona. An exit from the Spanish capital seems inevitable in June, and the player has several options to choose from.

There is serious interest from the Brazilian league to bring back the player, and two clubs are said to be best placed.

Flamengo, who received €30 million in 202 for his move to Madrid, are looking to sign him on loan in the summer. The other South American club contemplating his arrival is Corinthians and will push for him in the summer.

Lazio and Atalanta in the Serie A also stand as tempting options, especially with the chance for him to stay in Europe’s top five leagues.

The 21-year-old has not had chances to prove himself at Real Madrid. However, he has no one to blame but himself going by his underwhelming numbers on loan.

His spell at Borussia Dortmund was a colossal failure as he started just one game for the team in the Bundesliga all season. His numbers at Girona are not much better.

In ten appearances for the Catalan side this term, the Brazilian has scored just one goal while missing two big chances. He averages one chance created every three games.
