Fans of La Liga giants Real Madrid will be forced to wait to see an incoming member of the club’s first-team ranks take to the pitch in their side’s colours.

This comes amid confirmation that Franco Mastantuono will be plying his trade with River Plate at the Club World Cup.

Youngster Mastantuono is of course set to link up with Real Madrid this summer.

After Los Blancos agreed to meet the demands of their counterparts at River, the 17-year-old was given the green light to complete a dream move to Spain’s capital.

Mastantuono is primed to put pen to paper on a six-year contract with Xabi Alonso’s side.

As alluded to above, though, the Real Madrid faithful will need to be patient when it comes to the club’s latest prodigy being afforded his competitive debut.

This comes after Mastantuono was named in River Plate’s squad for the fast-approaching Club World Cup.

Florentino Pérez and co. were initially hopeful of the Argentine international being freed to line out under new boss Xabi Alonso at the CWC, but this will not be the case, with Mastantuono instead in line to link up with his new teammates later in the summer.
