Earlier in the month, it was reported that Real Madrid were on the verge of signing Abdellah Ouazane.
A central midfielder by trade, Ouazane is regarded as one of the most talented players to come out of the Ajax youth academy in recent years.
Aware of his talent, Real Madrid were expected to sign the 16-year-old this summer, as part of their plans to shore up the youth department.
However, it has been two weeks since there has been no real update on the Ouazane pursuit, and reports earlier today claimed that the deal has collapsed.
A recent report from AS has given some key insights into Real Madrid’s pursuit of Ouazane.

The report reveals that the transfer has hit a major roadblock in its final stages. Ouazane, who has already been in Madrid for the past four days for his medical and contract signing, has yet to officially sign for Los Blancos.
A possible medical issue may have derailed the process, though nothing has been confirmed. The club are remaining tight-lipped, only confirming that talks have stalled near the finish line.
Real Madrid, for their part, had everything in place: the player was expected to join Julian Lopez de Lerma’s U19 squad with a long-term view of eventually stepping up to Castilla.
Ouazane had already rejected three separate renewal offers from Ajax and turned down interest from other top clubs around Europe.
The report adds that the situation is likely to be resolved, one way or another, either in the coming hours or by Friday at the latest.
