Dani Ceballos once again finds himself in the spotlight as questions about his future at Real Madrid continue to grow.

The Spanish midfielder, now 29, has already expressed his desire to leave the club, just as he did last summer.

Despite his eagerness for a new challenge, his chances of securing a move remain complicated due to Madrid’s asking price.

According to Mario Cortegana of The Athletic, those close to the player believe that the possibility of the transfer is low under the current conditions.

There is still hope

Even so, there is a sense of hope around Ceballos after French side Marseille recently showed fresh interest.

This has given the midfielder’s camp renewed optimism, although no deal has yet been agreed.

Interestingly, Ceballos has been dropping hints about wanting a new adventure. He has interacted with posts on social media linking him to a possible return to Real Betis, the club where he first made his name.

After Madrid’s recent match against Oviedo, he even posted an Instagram story captioned “the last dance,” only to delete it shortly after.

No offer yet

While Real Betis looked into bringing him back, their financial situation made the move impossible.

As such, the real breakthrough may come from Ligue 1, where Marseille are reportedly in talks with Madrid over a transfer.

The Spanish giants are said to be demanding between €15 and €20 million, though there is also the possibility of a loan deal that includes an obligation to buy.

So far, Real Madrid have not received an official offer on the table, but negotiations are expected to continue in the coming days.

Situation could change

If Marseille are willing to meet Madrid’s terms, Ceballos could finally get the exit he has been pushing for.

However, should the French side step back due to the price, the midfielder may be forced to stay at the Santiago Bernabeu for another season.

For now, Ceballos’ future remains uncertain, but all eyes are on Marseille as they consider making a decisive move.
