One of the main objectives for Real Madrid heading into the summer is the signing of a top-quality midfielder.
After having bid goodbye to Toni Kroos last summer, without signing a replacement, Real Madrid will now part ways with Luka Modric as well.
As such, there is a need for a quality midfielder in the squad and several targets have been identified, one of whom happens to be AC Milan star Tijjani Reijnders.
The Dutchman, who has been a major success at Milan over the past two years, is well-liked at Valdebebas and is being looked at as a possible reinforcement.
However, according to AS, signing Reijnders from AC Milan will be complicated for Real Madrid due to the potential transfer fees involved.

Indeed, having renewed his contract until 2030 in March earlier this year, the Serie A giants are likely to demand a sum of around €80 million for the Netherlands international this summer.
As such, it could complicate the possibility of a move even though Reijnders is a player that is liked at Real Madrid and convinces the club officials.
Another issue in pursuit of the midfielder would be the strong interest from Premier League bigwigs Manchester City, who are also keen on adding him to their ranks.
A similar situation exists with another of Real Madrid’s midfield target, Alexis Mac Allister, with the Liverpool star likely to cost at least €90 million.
So, it remains to be seen whether Los Blancos decide to splash the cash on either Reijnders or Mac Allister or decide to go for more cost-effective alternatives such as Angelo Stiller of VfB Stuttgart.
