Real Madrid have responded strongly to their defeat against Athletic Club last week by picking up back-to-back victories over Girona (La Liga) and Atalanta (UEFA Champions League).
Both matches saw under-fire superstar Kylian Mbappe score amid question marks over his form and confidence since arriving at the Santiago Bernabeu.
However, the game against Atalanta earlier this week saw the French superstar get taken off in the first period due to an injury.
While manager Carlo Ancelotti downplayed the seriousness of Mbappe’s physical problem, there is now a chance that the marquee summer signing could miss Real Madrid’s upcoming match.
Indeed, according to journalist Anton Meana on Carrusel Deportivo, Mbappe is likely to be unavailable for this weekend’s La Liga clash against Rayo Vallecano at the Vallecas.

The French international is expected to meet with the Real Madrid doctors later this afternoon and undergo tests to determine the extent of his problem.
However, as things stand, the general feeling is that the 25-year-old will not be involved in Saturday night’s away game against Rayo Vallecano.
The report further states that Mbappe is not ruled out of Real Madrid’s subsequent match – the FIFA Intercontinental Cup Final, which will take place on December 18 (Wednesday).
So far this season, the former PSG superstar has netted 12 goals and set up two more from 22 matches across all competitions.
The numbers are from the level that one has grown accustomed to expect from Mbappe and just when he was starting to get into groove with two goals in two games, he has faced a fitness setback.
A clearer picture of the situation should emerge after Mbappe’s meeting with the club doctors later today.
