Bellingham was the standout performer in Real Madrid’s win over Pachuca, scoring a fine left-footed goal in the first half. The strike earned him the MVP award, and after the game, he shared his thoughts with RMTV.

Speaking in impressive Spanish, Bellingham commented on the extreme heat during the match. “The heat is incredible, but it’s the same for everyone. We have to get used to it,” he said.

Despite the physical discomfort, the Englishman continues to play a key role for the team and remains committed to helping them win the tournament before addressing his injury.

Working with Alonso and playing through pain

Bellingham also praised new manager Xabi Alonso, who recently took over at Real Madrid. “Xabi Alonso is a top coach. I talk to him a lot and we’re really happy with the new ideas he’s brought,” said Bellingham.

Reflecting on the win over Pachuca, Bellingham acknowledged the challenge of playing with ten men after Asencio’s early red card.

“The game became tough, but we showed our personality and stuck together. Courtois made some great saves. It wasn’t perfect, but we’ll keep improving.”

When asked about his shoulder, Bellingham was honest. “It’s better now, but I’m tired of playing with the sling. I’ve lost a lot of weight because of how much I’m sweating during matches.

“I’ll have surgery after the tournament. The medical staff have been amazing, but I just want to play pain-free again.”

Bellingham also spoke about his preferred position on the pitch. “It’s hard to choose. I just want to be involved, whether that’s deeper or further forward. When I play deeper, I get the ball more.

“When I’m higher up, I can influence the attack. I’m happy to help the team wherever I’m needed,” he concluded.
