Real Madrid keeping an eye on 19-year-old Valencia defender

Adding Kylian Mbappe and Endrick to their squad, Real Madrid had a very good transfer window last summer. The only major disappointment for the Merengues was the inability to incorporate their favourite defensive target, Leny Yoro, who spurred Los Blancos to join Manchester United.

The inability to include Yoro proved to be a significant failure for Real Madrid in the early phase of the season, as they were left with a very thin defensive line. Only in the last match against Stuttgart, Ancelotti had to deploy Dani Carvajal along with Antonio Rudiger in the centre of the defence.

In such circumstances, Real Madrid are already keeping their eyes on any potential candidates who can reinforce their backline. For this purpose, Diario AS reports that one such candidate that the Merengues are keeping an eye on is the Valencia defender Yarek Gasiorowski.

Los Blancos have some very good reports on the 19-year-old, who is somewhat taller than Yoro and is also more versatile as he can also play as a left-back.

However, Real Madrid are not going to approach this operation with haste, and will approach this task with the same patience as they did with Mbappe. He would be a strategic option for the club, especially with Eder Militao being the only relatively young defender in the backline at 26 years of age. Alaba will already be 32 years old when he returns from injury, while Rudiger is also 31 year old.

The youngster has a €45 million release clause, and has currently a contract till 2026 with Valencia. However, he will receive an automatic one-year extension if he reaches 20 appearances, and he already has 19 appearances to his name. With this extension, his release clause will also increase.

In such a scenario, signing the defender will not really be easy for the Merengues. This is especially the case since Real Madrid and Valencia’s relations are far from good. Only one player has joined the white team from Valencia in the 21st century, Raul Albiol in 2009.

Meanwhile, there are some other sides also interested in the defender, including Inter Milan and Salzburg. Atletico Madrid have also been interested in him.
