A 3-0 win over RB Salzburg earlier this week, in what president Florentino Perez termed as the team’s best performance under Xabi Alonso, ensured that Real Madrid made it through to the Round of 16 of the FIFA Club World Cup as leaders of Group H.

Real Madrid’s qualification for the Round of 16 in has not only secured their sporting progress in the tournament but has also guaranteed them a substantial financial reward.

€50 million in the pocket

Now, as reported by Mundo Deportivo, Real Madrid have already secured €50 million from the FIFA Club World Cup so far.

That figure could rise significantly, potentially reaching triple digits if they go all the way. Winning the competition could see them take home up to €125 million.

Los Blancos will receive around €7.5 million for reaching the first knockout stage. This amount adds to the €5 million already earned from their group stage results – two wins and a draw – and the €38 million awarded simply for participating in the competition.

Now, as they get set to take on Juventus in the Round of 16, advancing to the quarter-finals would land an income of €13.1 million for Real Madrid.

Reaching the semi-finals would bring in €21 million, while making it to the final would raise their total to around €30 million.

Should they lift the trophy, the total prize would reach €40 million just from knockout rounds – an enormous financial windfall.
