Real Madrid head coach Carlo Ancelotti has on Friday provided an update on the wellbeing of key attacker Kylian Mbappé.
This of course comes after the summer arrival in Spain’s capital was just yesterday condemned to an incoming spell on the sidelines.
Mbappé, for his part, featured from the off on Tuesday, as Real Madrid locked horns with Atalanta in the Champions League.
En route to an eventual 3-2 triumph for his side, during which he himself opened the scoring however, the 25-year-old was forced into a premature departure from proceedings.
This came owing to a muscular issue suffered off the ball.
Following a round of medical tests carried out on Thursday, Los Blancos announced that Mbappé ‘has been diagnosed with a thigh injury in his left leg’.
What was not confirmed, however, was precisely how long the attacker is expected to be sidelined for.
Speaking to the media in his pre-Rayo Vallecano press conference on Friday, the aforementioned Carlo Ancelotti therefore provided an insight into as much:
“Kylian Mbappé will not play tomorrow but he will travel for the Intercontinental Cup. We will see if he plays,” Real’s headmaster concluded.
