Real Madrid had a role in Como turning down a €70m offer from Tottenham Hotspur for Nico Paz.
Tottenham submitted an offer for Paz, who impressed as newly-promoted Como secured a top-half finish in Serie A last season. The 20-year-old scored six goals and provided eight assists in Italy’s top flight.
Spurs had turned to Paz after failing to land either Morgan Gibbs-White or Eberechi Eze this summer. The latter joined Arsenal over the weekend despite Spurs pushing for a deal.
Real Madrid are now understood to have played a part in blocking Paz’s potential move to the Premier League. The Spanish giants have a buy-back option on Paz, who was sold to the Italian side last summer.
Real Madrid do not plan to activate that clause in the current window, but Fabrizio Romano is reporting that a return to Madrid in 2026 is ‘increasingly likely’.
