In a recent report, Fichajes claimed that Real Madrid are keeping tabs on Recre Granada defender Oscar Naasei Oppong. It has been stated that Los Blancos are showing interest in the Ghanaian centre-back as they look to find a long-term replacement for Antonio Rudiger, whose contract is set to run out next summer.
Oppong has come through the youth ranks of Granada and has done well to establish himself as an important player for their senior team. The Ghanaian talent has already made seven senior appearances for the Spanish club so far, but is still waiting to score his first senior goal.
The 20-year-old has caught the eye with his performances in the youth levels of Spanish football. Thus, it is no surprise that Real Madrid are monitoring his progress at the moment.
Oppong’s current contract at Granada will expire at the end of next season, which could give Los Blancos a chance to sign him on a free transfer next summer.

Oppong is a tough-tackling defender who can time his challenges well to make the odd interception for his team. He doesn’t mind clearing the danger when the opposition are on the front foot and is a strong presence in the air as well.
However, the Ghanaian youngster is still quite raw and would need time before he can be a regular starter in La Liga. Still, there is no doubt that he has the potential to be a success story at a top club like Real Madrid in the long run.
At 20, Oppong has got a bright future ahead of him as long as he continues to improve with each season. However, he would need time to adjust to life at the Santiago Bernabeu Stadium.
Oppong would improve Los Blancos boss Xabi Alonso’s defence in the long run. Hence, Real Madrid would be wise to go all out to acquire his services on a free transfer next summer. However, Alonso has to be patient with his development before he can get the best out of the gifted youngster at the Madrid club.
