Even before the summer transfer window is open, Real Madrid are making great progress in their bid to bolster the squad for next season.
Dean Huijsen and Trent Alexander-Arnold are all set to arrive while progress is being made in pursuit of Benfica left-back Alvaro Carreras.
Once all the deals are sewn up, Real Madrid also plan on signing a new central midfielder and have already identified several possible options for the position.
Now, according to the Daily Mail, Real Madrid ‘adore’ Crystal Palace and England midfielder Adam Wharton and have sent scouts to watch him this season.
Over the past year, the 21-year-old midfielder has cemented himself as one of the most enterprising young midfielders in the Premier League despite having missed a good chunk of the season through injury.

As such, Real Madrid have taken note of the youngster and have had scouts check on him in recent times.
Liverpool, too, are understood to be monitoring Wharton who joined the Premier League for £18 million back in February last year.
The report states that a deal for Wharton in the summer could cost around £60 million, considering that he is contracted to Crystal Palace until the summer of 2029.
While there may be some tentative interest on Real Madrid’s part, at the moment there has been no indication that they plan on acting on it in the upcoming summer transfer window.
For now, the focus remains on sealing the deal for Alvaro Carreras in time for the FIFA Club World Cup, having secured the transfers of Alexander-Arnold and Huijsen.
