Real Betis table offer for Leeds United star | OneFootball

La Liga outfit Real Betis have moved forward with an opening proposal for a member of the attacking ranks at English side Leeds United.

That’s according to Mundo Deportivo, who point towards Mateo Joseph as the subject of the bid.

The brass at Real Betis, it is understood, are on the lookout for reinforcements up top with a view to the 2025/26 campaign.

With the incoming Gonzalo Petit set to be farmed out on loan, and Borja Iglesias expected to join Celta Vigo on a permanent basis, competition is needed for Cucho Hernández in Manuel Pellegrini’s squad.

The aforementioned Joseph, in turn, has long been earmarked as a potential addition on the part of those behind the scenes at the Estadio Benito Villamarín.

Joseph, for his part, played something of a bit-part role for Leeds United this past season, en route to the Whites securing promotion back to the Premier League.

All told, the Spanish youth international racked up 39 Championship appearances (11 starts), chipping in with three goals and three assists.

And along the way, he evidently did enough to impress the aforementioned Betis.

This comes amid confirmation on the part of MD that:

‘Real Betis have submitted an offer to Leeds for the loan, with an option to buy, of 21-year-old U21 international striker Mateo Joseph.’

Leeds, it is understood, are yet to respond to the proposal.
