Real Betis are prepared to do everything in their power to sign Antony from Manchester United, as per reports.
Antony spent the first half of the season at United as a peripheral figure, failing to manage a single start in the Premier League under Erik ten Hag and then Ruben Amorim.
He looked devoid of any confidence and creativity, leading to United deciding to offload him in January. Betis came calling and signed him on loan for the remainder of the campaign.
In the second half of the season, Antony established himself as one of the best attackers in Spain, notching nine goals and five assists in all competitions for Betis.
The Brazilian has become such an integral part of Manuel Pellegrini’s plans that the La Liga outfit’s transfer strategy supposedly revolves around him.
According to Spanish publication AS, Antony is Betis’ number one priority and they are determined to keep him in Seville beyond this summer.
The 25-year-old is viewed as one of the main reasons behind Los Verdiblancos’ promising form and Pellegrini wants him to be a key part of his system alongside Isco next term as well.
Antony is expected to be open to staying in Spain but it is claimed that Betis are struggling to meet United’s demands, as the Premier League giants are expecting significant offers for their €95 million signing.
Betis want to “fight for Antony until the bitter end” and are accordingly “doing the math” to come up with a convincing proposal for United, who have also been approached by other suitors.
Recently, The Peoples Person relayed a report claiming Bayern Munich, Bayer Leverkusen, and Atletico Madrid are all interested in Antony.
In order to win the race for Antony, Betis are willing to pay “some money” for a percentage of his rights and agree to another loan deal with an option to buy in 2026.
Further, the La Liga outfit are hoping to strengthen their transfer war chest by making sales this summer. Whether that would be enough to make a difference and secure Antony’s services remains to be seen, but it certainly has been impressive to witness his Spanish renaissance.
