Real Betis plotting sensational last-minute loan moves for Antony and Christian Eriksen | OneFootball

Spanish side Real Betis are reportedly keen on signing Manchester United duo Antony and Christian Eriksen on a loan move.

All through the summer, it’s believed that United have been opening to parting ways with Antony and Eriksen.

Last term, both players fell down the pecking order, with Erik ten Hag demonstrating a clear preference for other players. Alejandro Garnacho took Antony’s starting spot while the emergence of young Kobbie Mainoo led to Eriksen’s receiving very limited playing time.

A few weeks ago, it was mentioned that Antony was on the radar of Ligue 1 outfit Lille, who were keen on adding him to their ranks on a loan deal.

News on that front went wild, especially after the Brazilian’s agent publicly explained that his client’s wish is to remain at Old Trafford and fight for his place.

Meanwhile, Eriksen is understood to have been the subject of overtures from teams such as Ajax and Anderlecht but bids have not been forthcoming.

According to The Daily Mail, Real Betis are interested in taking the United pair – a proposition United are not opposed to.

“Manchester United pair Antony and Christian Eriksen have emerged as loan targets for Real Betis.”

“United have made it clear they would listen to offers for fringe players but were ideally looking at permanent sales for Eriksen and defender Victor Lindelof.”

“Ajax and Lazio, respectively, had made tentative approaches but talks have not advanced.”

Simon Jones further notes, “Betis are exploring a number of options and are considering a bold approach for Brazilian winger Antony and midfielder Eriksen to see if United would countenance such a deal.”

In response to Antony potentially sealing a switch to Betis, Romano has pointed out that the move is not happening as the 24-year-old wants to stay at United.

Eriksen made 22 Premier League appearances in the 2023/24 season while Antony played 29 top-flight matches.
