According to a report from Fichajes, Real Betis manager Manuel Pellegrini has identified Barcelona’s Pau Victor as a priority target for the summer, but only if they secure a spot in next season’s UEFA Champions League.

It is said that the 23-year-old forward is admired by Pellegrini for his technical finesse in tight areas, smart link-up play, and impressive scoring instincts.

Despite being brought back by Barcelona with an eye on assessing his suitability for the first team under Hansi Flick, he has found minutes hard to come by.

The intense competition in Barcelona’s attack has essentially sidelined him, pushing the club to consider a loan move to maintain his development without losing control over his future.

Betis want him

In this context, Betis have emerged as an ideal landing spot. Pellegrini, who is planning for a more ambitious campaign should Betis qualify for Europe’s top competition, sees Victor as a natural fit for his dynamic attacking system.

Sources close to the situation say Pellegrini has already made it clear to the Betis board: if they secure Champions League football, Victor’s signing should be a top priority.

While formal negotiations have not begun, there is confidence on all sides that a deal would move swiftly if Betis achieves its objective.

From the player’s perspective, the opportunity makes complete sense. He would benefit from regular top-flight minutes, exposure in European competition, and the chance to play under a tactically astute manager.

For Barcelona, it remains a tough decision mostly because while Flick acknowledges the forward’s commitment, he simply cannot guarantee him first-team football even next season.

Financially, the move would also suit Betis. His market value remains accessible, and a loan with an option to buy—or even a buy-back clause for Barça—would make the deal feasible even for a club with a tight budget.
