The future of forward Paul Wanner at the club level as well as internationally is a hot topic at the moment and RB Leipzig seems like the next team interested in the 18-year-old per Bild.
Wanner’s future at Bayern Munich is currently up in the air. The Rekordmeister’s reported interest in Bayer Leverkusen’s Florian Wirtz means he would not have a place in the Bayern squad in the future and this would point towards a move away from the club.
Leverkusen are said to be interested in Wanner as Wirtz’s replacement and now Leipzig also sees the 18-year-old as a replacement for Xavi Simons.
Leipzig still aims to try to keep Simons at the club permanently beyond this summer, but whether they can afford the price tag for the Dutch international is a different story. If they cannot keep Simons at the Red Bull Arena, then they will turn to Wanner as his replacement.
Wanner is currently on loan at Heidenheim and has also yet to make a decision on his international future having recently turned down a call-up to the senior German national team.
