For the third consecutive game, FC Barcelona are set to play an away game in La Liga. This time around, the Catalan giants will be taking on Rayo Vallecano. A tough opponent, and they will certainly make things difficult.
After having recently defeated Levante, this is Barça’s chance for a third successive victory in La Liga. However, Barça cannot afford to take this opponent lightly under any condition.
Over at Vallecas, things are rarely ever simple or straightforward. For Hansi Flick’s team to get the win at that stadium, a strong performance will be needed and one that does not see the team falter initially as they did against Levante.
While comebacks are nice every now and then, it should not be the default blueprint for Barça to follow every game. This time around, Flick should have his men ready to deliver a more complete and focused performance.

So far this season, Barça has two wins from two games. Moreover, they have scored six goals across those two games and have conceded two goals. That leaves them with six points and a positive goal difference of four. Currently, they sit in second place in La Liga, only behind Villarreal on goal difference.
As for Rayo Vallecano, their start has not been perfect but it has not been entirely bad either. After winning 3-1 against Girona, they ended up losing 1-0 to Athletic Club. That leaves them with one win and one loss from two games, leaving them just outside the top ten in the league table.
Still, form goes out of the window in clashes that are typically this intense. Rayo can certainly hurt Barcelona, and the Catalan giants will simply need to make sure that they are up for the challenge and are prepared to perform better than their opponents.
Unfortunately for Barça, however, they will have to work things out in this game without Gavi. The youngster was recently injured, and he has been ruled out for this game .
