Barcelona star Raphinha has weighed in on the anger of young teammate Lamine Yamal with his latest

Wide-man Lamine of course featured from the off once more on Wednesday night, as Barcelona marked their return to action on the continent in a Champions League meeting with Atalanta.

And, en route to an eventual 2-2 draw, the Spanish international notched the game’s opener, to take his season tally to ten goals.

Late in proceedings in Catalunya’s capital, Lamine was then hooked by boss Hansi Flick.

Despite there having been just minutes left in the fixture, the 17-year-old looked less than amused, making his way back to the bench with a scowl on his face.

This is not the first occasion this season on which Lamine has looked altogether frustrated with being hauled off early.

Speaking to the media in the aftermath of Wednesday’s European clash, the subject of such frustrations was in turn put to fellow Barcelona winger Raphinha.

And Lamine’s attacking partner-in-crime made use of the opportunity to launch a stern defence of the youngster:

“Yes, I understand him completely. In the end, he is an amazing player and always wants to be on the pitch. I was also angry many times when I was his age. It is normal for him to be frustrated. I am trying to help him a lot and I am very happy with the level he is playing.”
