Rangers welcome Tottenham Hotspur to Ibrox his evening in a ‘Battle of Britain’ Europa League clash.
The two teams are level on points in the standings, with Rangers above Spurs on goal difference heading into Thursday’s tie. A heavy home defeat to Lyon aside, Philippe Clement’s side have impressed in Europe this season.
Rangers have won three of their five games, including a 4-1 away win at Nice, and held Europa Conference League winners Olympiacos in Athens. Their form in this competition has contrasted a difficult domestic start that leaves The Gers third in the Scottish Premiership.
There’s unlikely to be a warm welcome for Spurs manager Ange Postecoglou. The Australian spent two decorated seasons at Glasgow rivals Celtic before his move to the Premier League.
Philippe Clement has welcomed back Robbie Matondo to first-team training this week. The Welsh winger has missed three months with a hamstring injury. In his absence, Hamza Igamane has taken his chance with four goals in four games.
Neraysho Kasanwirjo is a long-term absentee for the Scottish side, while the clash is likely to come too soon for Tom Lawrence or Oscar Cortes.
Rangers predicted XI: Butland; Tavernier, Souttar, Balogun, Jefte; Raskin, Hagi; Cerny, Diomande, Igamane; Dessers.
Rangers host Tottenham in the Europa League on Thursday 12th December 2024. Kick-off at Ibrox is 20:00 GMT.
Rangers vs Tottenham will be shown on TNT Sports 1, TNT Sports Ultimate and Discovery+.
