Rangers should go all-out to appoint Mourinho this summer

Jose Mourinho’s declaration that he would manage in the Scottish Premiership triggered plenty of debate across the football world.

The Fenerbahce boss has refused to rule out managing Celtic or Rangers in the future, which would undoubtedly be an intriguing proposition.

While Celtic are not currently in the market for a new manager, it is a different story at Rangers. If they have any sense, they will test Mourinho’s resolve this summer.

Rangers are a long way adrift of Celtic in the Scottish Premiership. They need a proven manager who is capable of cracking heads and shaking up the established order.

Mourinho is the ideal candidate. His presence at Ibrox would be a game-changer in terms of the players Rangers could attract to the club.

Appointing Mourinho could have the same transformational impact Graeme Souness had on Rangers when he arrived in Glasgow in April 1986.
