Rangers fans campaign again for Lawrence Shankland

A tonne of Rangers fans today are vaunting for Hearts captain Lawrence Shankland, who is once again slapping the Famous down, scoring, and making the defence look like mincemeat, admittedly not a hard thing to do.

The curious part is how many advocating for him are saying ‘I thought he was slow’, or ‘thought he couldn’t score against us’ and all forms of other mockeries of fellow fans’ digs at the striker.

But Ibrox Noise’s every poll on the topic always has Shankland top of the pile, has him as a priority signing, with a binary poll recently between yes and no having 80% campaigning for his signature.

Ignore the comments slating the lad, the data doesn’t lie, and the absolute majority of Rangers fans, around 90%, would sign him for the club in a heartbeat.

The ones who wouldn’t are the types who rejected Lewis Ferguson as not good enough. They know their stuff for sure.

But the reality is Shankland rightly won SPFA player of the year, he’s the best striker in Scotland and his numbers reflect that.

Rangers not making a move for him would be the usual predictable crap from our club, when an impressive SPL player shines, fans want him, then our club moves for some mince from the Hungarian third division instead, justifying it with corporate nonsense before he’s eventually loaned out to a 2nd division Dutch team having ‘failed to make an impact’ at Rangers.

It’s always the way with Rangers, and while Philippe Clement has promised the end of an era this summer, and a new cycle, signing good quality players the fans actually want might actually be a good way to achieve this.

But no, Shankland will move onto some European side willing to pay him £20,000 a week and Rangers will make our hipster move for Zante Diro, 21, a ‘promising Greek youth product’ instead.

Can’t wait.
