Rangers aren’t at their best, but fan passion is there for all to see

If there is one thing Ibrox Noise has learned from the past 48 hours, it’s just how much Rangers supporters love our club.

Sure, we’ve been abused left right and centre on this site by those who strongly disagree with our views – you need a thick skin in this business and if we took personally the slurs, we’d never get out of bed in the morning.

All our writers, including the boss, have taken massive abuse, personal attacks, and smears of being ‘tims’ because of our views.

We’re big boys and girls on here, we can take that flack.

But what the reaction over the past few days has proven is that while we may all rather ‘disagree’ about the way forward, the strong lifelong blood that is Rangers is very much alive and present.

We see that in the abuse, even if sadly we sometimes have to remove the offender or two here and there.

We don’t really mind being attacked, it’s the nature of the beast of football commentary that if you say something someone doesn’t agree with, you’re a stupid **** or a shameful this and that.

We’re all adults, and while a world without nasty slurs would be nice, let’s be realistic.

We’re genuinely glad about both those who are backing Clement, and those who are opposing him – because all of these fans are desperate to see Rangers be number one again.

And that passion is desperately important to keep our club in the right place, even if some of the passion is overspilling into rage.

The fans at Ibrox who had a go at everyone and anyone, for us we can see why they had those strong views. Telling Tav to eff off was regrettable, and we don’t endorse the tactics or behaviour, but we endorse the passion and the desire for our club to win.

This is football. It has divisive opinions. We are on the receiving end a lot for ours, although the last thing we want to be saying is sack the boss or Rangers are terrible.

We want to win.

Thankfully everyone else does too.

Maybe we could have a think about the abuse part in there as well?
