Former Roma midfielder Radja Nainggolan was asked about the prospect of Romelu Lukaku representing the Giallorossi this season.

In an interview with Corriere dello Sport, Nainggolan declared himself happy to see his friend and compatriot sign with Roma for the duration of this year’s campaign.

“I followed the arrival of Romelu Lukaku at Roma and it was exciting. But can I tell you something? If I went back tomorrow there would be even more fans waiting for me at Ciampino airport,” said the Belgian midfielder.

“I’m really happy he’s at Roma. This is a major signing for the Giallorossi. Lukaku has the winning mentality of a great player. I know him very well, he’s a decent guy who gives everything for the team.”

“He doesn’t create problems, he is focused on the group and on the team objectives. Remember that if Romelu feels loved, he always gives something extra. He needs to feel the intensity of the bond with the environment, with the fans. If he feels their support, he will give his life for them on the pitch. This is why I think Rome is the perfect place for him, he is one of the strongest strikers in recent years.”
