Currently sitting in sixth place in the Premier League with 19 points, Tottenham can afford to turn their attention to the upcoming winter transfer window.

Pedro Porro’s stellar performances for Tottenham Hotspur have not gone unnoticed, with the 25-year-old right-back attracting interest from European giants Real Madrid.

Porro, who recently scored his second goal of the season during Spurs’ 4-0 win over Manchester City, has cemented his place as one of the Premier League’s standout full-backs.

Additionally, his rise to becoming one of Spain’s starting right-backs has further bolstered his reputation. However, with his contract running until 2028, Tottenham appear to be in no rush to part ways with the defender.

Speaking exclusively to Tottenham News, John Wenham, a notable Spurs commentator and host of the "Lilywhite Rose" podcast, Tottenham will demand double the amount they paid for Porro to entertain any offers.

This valuation reflects his importance to the team and his growing potential on the international stage.

“All in Spurs paid £44 million to sign Porro, which includes the £5 million loan fee and the £39 million obligation to make his transfer permanent," Wenham explained. "If clubs don’t want to pay it, that is fine, he is contracted until 2028. Either pay the £88 million or don’t sign him, simple as.”

Tottenham’s stance: pay or walk away

This unwavering stance aligns with Daniel Levy’s reputation as a shrewd negotiator, which could complicate Real Madrid’s pursuit of the player.

Porro himself has acknowledged the interest from Los Blancos, describing the possibility of a move to Santiago Bernabeu as a “dream.”

Despite this, the likelihood of a transfer hinges on Madrid’s willingness to meet Tottenham’s demands.

Ange Postecoglou, Spurs’ manager, will undoubtedly be eager to retain the services of the dynamic full-back.

Porro’s attacking flair and defensive reliability have made him a key figure in Tottenham’s push for a strong Premier League campaign and a return to Europe’s elite competitions.

With his current form and potential, it’s no surprise that Porro has become one of the most sought-after defenders in Europe.

Should Tottenham succeed in keeping him, he could play a pivotal role in their long-term ambitions. If a transfer does materialise, however, it’s clear the club will ensure it’s on their terms, securing a deal that reflects Porro’s immense value.
